 Veteran Flight Training
Helicopter Experts is proud to be approved to train eligible veterans. Once you obtain your private pilot’s license, the VA will pay for Commercial pilot Commercial Pilot, Commercial Add-On, Authorized Flight Instructor, and Additional Flight Instructor.

Veterans that enroll are required to fly a minimum of 6 hours per month and maintain satisfactory grades. The VA pays approximately 60% of the training fees to the applicant for helicopter flight instruction, ground instruction and solo practice. The VA does not pay the following: private license, enrollment fees, books and training materials, medical certificate fees, knowledge test fees, private license fee and examiner fees.

Frequently asked questions about becoming a pilot:
How old do I have to be? There is no age minimum to begin you training. You must be 16 yrs old to perform you rfirst solo flight and 17 yrs old to obtain your licnese.

What is required before I start? You must have a third class medical certificate to begin training with Helicopter Experts. This is a basic physical and can be performed by our on-site Aviation Medical Examiner.

When do classes start? Your class will begin when you are ready. All training is performed one-on-one and according to your schedule.

How long will it take to become a pilot? The time that it takes to become a pilot is up to you. It is possible to complete your training in as little as 12 weeks. The FAA requires 35 hours of flight training and 35 hours of ground instruction.

How much money do I have to pay to begin my training? H.E. has a non refundable enrollment fee of $100.00. Books and supplies required to begin your training total approximately $303.00.
  How much will it cost to become a pilot? The cost of training will depend on the frequency of flight training, the student's apptitude and diligence. The FAA requires 35 hours of flight training and 35 hours of ground instruction. It should not be considered unusual though to exceed these minimum requirements. Ground instruction is $50.00/hr. Flight time is regularly $270.00/hr. helicopter experts often offers the purchase of a discounted, nonrefundable block of hours.

How much money do I have to put down for my training? No money is required in advance of you training, All training is payed for as you receive it. If you fly for 1/2 hour, then that is what you pay for. You may place money on account with Helicopter Experts. As you progress through your schooling with us we will deduct the appropriate amount from your account. You may also purchase a discounted, non refundable, block of hours.
